Whirlpool dishwashers are globally well-known.
The Whirlpool Corporation markets also major brands like Maytag, Kitchen Aid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Brastemp, Bauknecht and others.
With technical innovations like 6th Sense ™, AquaSteam, PowerClean and Overnight programme produces this manufacturer kitchen appliances that are energy efficient and comply with requirements for an active protection of the environment.
Looking for models of the Gold series? Read on this page more about them in detail.
This brand is, from most of the Consumer Reports, quite reliable but of late we have had some rather negative reviews from our site visitors. Repairs in newer models still seem to be fairly rare.
6th Sense™ means that a Whirlpool dishwasher is able to recognize via a sensor the degree of soiling and adapts the water and energy consumption to it automatically. This way the washing temperature will be optimally adjusted to the present degree of soiling.
PowerClean (UK) or PowerScour (US) is a high pressure water jet system of 32 - 36 jets that are positioned on the bottom shelf of certain models of Whirlpool dishwashers. This helps to clean even heavily soiled pots and pans without having to pre-soak or pre-rinse. However, exceptions are burnt on food remains.
Whirlpool dishwashers have got a good loading capacity and flexbility.
Some models come with a Super Capacity Tall Tub Design that is 3 inches taller than standard tubs but fit into a space for a standard dishwasher. Up to 14 place settings can be loaded at once and large dishes or cookware fits into it.
PowerClean/Power Scour enables you to place and stack fairly
soiled dishes, plates, pots and pans without leaving too much space in
between them.
Thanks to the well-placed water-jets, washing is more efficient and the
machine does not need to use additional water.
This again helps to store a bigger load for one cycle. The manufacturer
promises there is no need for pre-washing programs, repeated cycles or
manual pre-soaking of extra dirty dishes, pots or pans thanks to these
new technologies.
AnyWare (TM) silverware baskets offer plenty of storage for flatware and can be placed on the outside of the lower rack or even in the door. This allows to load the whole space of the lower rack with plates, pots, pans etc. AnyWare Plus (TM) is 15% larger than AnyWare (TM).
EZ-2 Lift Adjustable Upper Rack lets you easily load dishes and large plates also into the upper rack.
Delicate glass-ware and long stemmed glasses can be washed safely in an extra and unique glass-ware rack.
AquaSteam technology is based on the use of steamed
water.
Steam softens the really dried on, hard to remove food remains (e.g.
porridge) and is deadly for germs and bacteria.
SheerClean™ Direct Feed Wash System leads water into jets at the top and back of the dishwasher so that dishes can be washed from five different angles and washing water is kept clean.
A Hard food disposer makes pre-rinsing of heavily
soiled dishes before loading needless.
This helps to save time and water. In models with AutoClean Filter
System it is not necessary to clean the filter devices manually.
The washing performance is more efficient as the wash water will be
kept free of food remains and bad odors rarely occur.
Machines without a hard food disposer require periodic cleaning of the
filter system or the soil trap.
Quiet Partner Sound Package is a 5-leveled special noise-insulation. (Level I - V). But the better insulated and quieter a model, the more expensive the purchase price will be.
Whirlpool dishwashers with an Overnight programme feature operate super-quiet at only 39 dba. This is ideal for open plan kitchens or small apartments, as you won't hear your machine at all.
NSF Certified Sani Rinse Option kills at a final rinse temperature of 68.3 'C (155' F) most of the food bacteria and germs.
The High-temperature wash option is responsible for monitoring and maintainance of the highest temperature of the wash-water. This leads to an improved cleaning performance.
Heated dry dries washed dishes, pots, pans, glasses etc. perfectly so that it can be used or stored immediately after a finished cycle.
The 1 - 9 hour Delayed Wash option lets you determine at what time you want the dishwasher to work: at off-peak times, in the morning while you are at work or at any other times convenient for you.
Control Lock option deactivates control buttons. This s especially helpful, if small children are present, as they might play around with those buttons and controls.
According to CR is this brand fairly reliable and ranks amongst brands for low maintenance and repair costs. You will find the right machine for your personal budget within this brand. A lot of consumers find this is overall a well performing and cleaning brand.
However, there are also negative aspects mentioned: dirty dishes and flatware despite of PowerScour™ or sudden and total break-down after only a few years of usage or noisier than expected.
Keep in mind that it always depends on how it is being used by
an individual consumer.
If you decide to buy a certain model, make sure it does fit your
individual needs and life-style.
