Whirlpool 18 Inch Dishwasher

Features and Specifications of Whirlpool 18 inch dishwasher models

Whirlpool ADG 659

The ADG 659 is a freestanding Whirlpool 18 inch dishwasher with dimensions of 85 x 45 x 62cm and a retail price range from £248 - £467.

Although the dimensions on the outside are standard slimline measurements, it offers space for 10 place settings.

Cleaning and drying performance is good – mediocre. Watermarks need to be removed manually.

On the other side uses this dishwasher in Normal cycle only 11 L water and saves energy with a very short cycle time. The Eco programme will save even more electricity, but uses around 13 L water! The eco cycle needs 141 min (2 h 21min) from start to finish. Beside normal and eco you can choose also between an Intensive wash at 70 C and a Quick wash that will wash dishes over a cycle length of only 35 minutes.

Loading and handling is easy and you can adjust the upper rack in height (it is recommended to do this only if empty.)

Rinse aid- and Salt-refill indicators help you to keep levels sufficient for achieving good washing results. This model is somewhat noisy during use.

Whirlpool ADG 550

This Whirlpool 18 inch dishwasher is a built-in model with dimensions of 84 x 45 x 55 cm that offers room for 10 place settings and is AAA-rated. It retails at a price range from £ 346 up to £509 incl. delivery.

The excellent energy rating AAA is achieved through the short 58 min Normal cycle, an outstanding low water consumption and very good energy efficiency.

The Eco programme delivers excellent water- and electricity efficiency even during drying. This cycle is with 133 min (2h 13 min) also shorter than most eco-cycles of other models. A rather energy efficient Quick Wash cycle offers the possibility of cleaning e.g. glasses, plates and dishes in between menu courses. There is no delay timer in this Whirlpool 19 inch dishwasher model built in.

The overall cleaning and drying performance is only mediocre – poor. Often, you will still need to dry goods afterwards before putting them away into your cup boards.

This model is somewhat noisy when running.

Loading is made easy and comfortably enough and the upper rack is height adjustable. Again, it is recommended to do this when still empty.

Although this model offers many features and outstanding energy and water savings, consumer experience shows that brand reliability, at least in the UK, is not very satisfying.
