Indesit IDL40

This is a slimline dishwasher, which cost us £179.99. in 2007. We bought it from Currys, who are pretty good in terms of not pushing hard for sales, which makes shopping there a bit more pleasant.

For the price, the IDL40 is a reasonable dishwasher and is AAA rated. We usually use the 'Eco' wash, which cleans well but sometimes I need to put burnt on pans through a second time. It also has a 'Time for You' setting which takes and hour and a half, which is the fastest cycle it has - fairly average when you comapre it to other dishwashers. It is also average in terms of noise - not noticeably noisy and we put it on overnight with no disturbance.

My main problem with the machine is that the start button is very temperamental and often needs a couple of presses to work. This is very annoying and suggests a fairly low build quality. The dishwasher also only lasted for two years before breaking beyond repair, which I think is disappointing as I would like to get a good few years out of one.

Overall, if you need a slimline dishwasher for less then £200 this should do you well, but don't expect it to excel; it does what it should do, averagely well.
