Dishwasher RecallsUsually it comes as shocking news: dishwasher recalls are a nuisance and are almost always associated with trouble and hassle. Most of us experience, in such a situation, the downside of customer care and after-sales service, especially if your machine is not brand new any more. But it has to be said that as far as recalls are concerned, this is where the top brands often tend to perform better regarding service. Dishwasher Recalls: A common tale of woe: The repair service people need to come to collect the dishwasher, so you need to arrange a collection/drop off date. Don't be too surprised if they come late or alltogether on another day and be prepared, it can take weeks until you see your machine again. Of course, in the meantime you will most probably have to wash your dishes by hand again. Aaaargh! However, it's unwise to ignore recalls as often they are associated with electrical and fire hazards. A model series that is subject to a requested return by a manufacturer should not be used any more until the defective part is repaired. It's especially dangerous to use a recalled dishwasher as the repair that is required may be due to electrical or water leakage faults. Water and electricity together are deadly. If your machine is on the recall list or you suspect a fault, stop using it immediately. On January, 15, 2009 Bosch and Siemens requested dishwasher returns due to fire hazards concerning the following models: Bosch Model Numbers beginning with:
